Who We BE

Our Mission

Sangha House NOLA exists to embody boundless love in action and liberation in practice. Through community care and well-being, we transform suffering into healing, opening pathways of liberation within ourselves, our communities, and the world, both on and off the cushion.

Our Vision

Sangha House NOLA exists to embody the path of awakening through courageous practice, fierce sincerity, and boundless love. By uprooting greed, hatred, and delusion, we cultivate the conditions for liberation within ourselves, our communities, and the world. Grounded in relational practice and mutual care, we bow to our interconnectedness to the Earth beneath our feet, to those who came before, to all beings. On and off the cushion, practicing with intention, we embody a more just and compassionate world for all beings.

Our Values

We recognize that all beings and our precious planet are inseparable. True awakening calls us to act not for ourselves alone but for the liberation of all. We dedicate ourselves to the ongoing practice of transformation and healing cultivating the courage, presence and boundless love needed to awaken together.

Interbeing

We bear witness to the truth that separation is an illusion, and that wisdom arises through recognizing our deep interconnectedness with nature and all beings.

Mindfulness & Compassionate Action

Rooted in right concentration, we cultivate awareness in thought, word, and deed. With expansive hearts and clear insight, we respond to the world with engaged compassion, embodying loving service for the well-being of all beings.

Revolutionary Love & Liberation

With boundless love as our foundation, we aspire to dissolve the barriers that uphold suffering. Through deep practice, we commit to uprooting the seeds of greed, hatred, and delusion, knowing that collective liberation is only possible when all are free.

Courage & Authenticity

As pathways to understanding, we practice fearless sincerity and deep looking. We engage differing viewpoints through dialogue without blame, listening with full presence, showing up as our whole selves while nurturing personal integrity and communal trust.

Transformation & Healing

Healing requires deep looking. With sangha as our support, we work to understand the seeds within our consciousness, uprooting the causes of suffering while cultivating joy and present moment awareness. Through this practice, we move toward liberation and the cessation of suffering.
