“Sangha House NOLA has helped me to not have to be in survival mode. The food support has helped me to focus on other things such as caring for home responsibilities, rent, utilities, and the cost to get to and from work.
Our beloved community shares how practice and presence have opened pathways of transformation & healing.
“Sangha House NOLA has helped me to not have to be in survival mode. The food support has helped me to focus on other things such as caring for home responsibilities, rent, utilities, and the cost to get to and from work.
I love sangha and the energy the space holds, and it has such a strong loving Community , open to everyone and Venerable has great teachings and spirit
Being able to practice with the Sangha has truly helped me to see the truth of all things as they truly are, practicing has helped me to see the areas within myself that still need to be uprooted.
Sangha House NOLA feels like a true pathway and sacred turning point toward a lifelong commitment to the practice. It embodies giving and aiding rather than taking away or depleting from the precious gift of life through the grace of Venerable Dayananda,
Sangha House is the only place that aligns with my desire for collective liberation through a Black Buddhist lens.
My time at Sangha House NOLA has been a profound reminder that the living Dharma is not confined to one tradition but revealed through compassionate action and mindful community.
I’m feeling really grateful for the space that was held for me and the respect and understanding from everyone I encountered. Thank you so much to Nashe Ghandhakuti, Venerable Clear Grace Dayananda, and Mikala for hosting me. Wonderful people and I’m glad I got to experience some of what you offer in this world and in New Orleans.
Liberation and healing, for me, means moving past what no longer serves—and into intentional, consistent growth with the people I love. Sangha House has been the foundation of that transformation in my life. It brings me back to where I need to be every single time. I can always rely on this space to be safe, loving, and real.
Reading and reflecting with the Sangha brought so much clarity. Sitting together, chapter by chapter, made space for deeper understanding—and the insights from discussion stayed with me long after.
“Liberation, for me, is learning how to free my mind from its constant chatter—and this Sangha has given me tools to do just that. Through the Dharma talks, I’m learning how to observe my thoughts without getting carried away by them. Every session feels like perfect timing—as if you’re reading my mind.
I felt I was in shambles, life seemed very dark and limited, like I was just broken with nothing to do but to sweep the pieces of myself up and find someway to bring myself back together. I can say with great gratitude that Sangha House NOLA helped me to realign my spiritual practices through the lense of Buddhism and Mindfulness practices.
Being able to practice with the Sangha has truly helped me to see the truth of all things as they truly are, practicing has helped me to see the areas within myself that still need to be uprooted. The sangha has taught me to consistently release the self centered aspect of living, and instead consider the entire collective experience, that not one experience is an isolated event.
